Will Clapp must be a glass half-full kind of guy.

The LSU offensive lineman on Monday was asked about how the team feels after a 3-1 start coming off a narrow 35-26 win against Syracuse that followed a 30-point loss against Mississippi State.

Clapp said the opinions inside the football complex differ from those outside the building.

“I don’t feel the whole doom and gloom attitude,” Clapp told reporters. “But I leave the building and I feel like everybody thinks the world is ending. But not in this building. We’re happy we won. But end of the day, we’re 3-1. But there are teams that are in a lot worse position than us. All of our goals are still at hand.”

Coach Ed Orgeron clarified on Monday that Danny Etling would remain the starting quarterback after freshman Myles Brennan saw some action against Syracuse.

Other issues surrounding LSU center on running back Derrius Guice’s undisclosed injury, and a shakeup along the offensive line, which saw three different right guards on Saturday.
