The LSU Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes are the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the College Football Playoff rankings, respectively.

Both have looked dominant this year, so it’s fair to think that we could be heading toward a Tigers-Buckeyes meeting in the CFP title game.

So, who would SEC Network host Paul Finebaum pick in that matchup? Interestingly, on “First Take” on Wednesday, Finebaum said he’d go with Ohio State:

“I’m going to surprise some people right now by saying I think Ohio State might beat LSU,” he said. “It would be a neutral-site game, but to me, if you look at LSU, as great as that win was the other day, they’ve had a couple of narrow wins. I mean, they beat Auburn by 3 at home. They had a heavyweight fight vs. Florida. It went back and forth and back and forth before they finally won by 2 scores. They also had a narrow win against Texas, which isn’t a great team. (Texas is) barely a good team. Ohio State is just shredding teams. They have eviscerated teams. Right now, I would favor Ohio State in that game.”

Will LSU QB Joe Burrow actually get a chance to face his old team with a title on the line? We’ll find out over the next couple of months.
