The LSU community has been joined by football fans from around the country pulling for live mascot Mike the Tiger since it was revealed that he had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
The mascot underwent a successful treatment in June, but has been dealing with radiation burn. The Advocate journalists Elizabeth Crisp and Hilary Scheinuk have shared photos of post-treatment Mike VI, who has a noticeable scar in the area affected by the tumor:

Mike has received an outpouring of support, particularly from other schools with live mascots.
Andrew writes about sports to fund his love of live music and collection of concert posters. He strongly endorses the Hall of Fame campaigns of Fred Taylor and Andruw Jones.
