There’s been plenty of talk of the College Football Playoff picture and how it has evolved as the regular season nears a close. And two of the teams that have been in then conversation but aren’t a total lock to make it in are the LSU Tigers and the Tennessee Volunteers.

College football analyst Rece Davis recently weighed in on which team should get in and why, though it was taken the wrong way by some. He clarified his stance, stating the type of win he needed to see from the Tigers in a game like the season finale against Georgia.

“Tennessee is and should be LSU’s ceiling,” Davis said. “If it’s a field goal game or a weird flukey thing and LSU wins, that doesn’t make it equal to what the other two did. So, what I said last night was LSU can get in, but not before Tennessee. And I’ll stick to the right now.”

It will be interesting to see how things play out down a final stretch of the season for LSU that includes UAB, Texas A&M and Georgia.
