LSU wide receiver Drake Davis was arrested Friday for several alleged domestic-violence incidents over the past few years, including in June when he allegedly broke one of his girlfriend’s ribs. However, Davis’ girlfriend is apparently now going back on her allegations.

According to The Advocate, Davis’ attorney, Marci Blaze, said Davis’ accuser has issued a statement retracting the allegations.

“I have been contacted by the victim and she has provided me a statement that the allegations are, in fact, false,” Blaze said, per The Advocate. “It’s my understanding that she has also made similar statements to other entities in law enforcement.”

Blaze declined to provide a copy of the statement to The Advocate, and it is unclear if the accuser has hired an attorney.

Davis is scheduled to have a hearing on Monday before a judge to set his bond and bond requirements. The junior wide receiver has been suspended from the team indefinitely.

It is unclear how the accuser’s retraction of the allegations will affect the situation moving forward.
