The LSU Tigers are moving on from AD Joe Alleva, meaning the search was on for a new athletic director.

They set their sights on Texas A&M’s Scott Woodward, who is a Baton Rouge native and has many ties to the area.

After making two big coaching hires at A&M the last two years in Jimbo Fisher and Buzz Williams, it was unclear whether he’d be willing to leave College Station. However, it appears the deal is done, per Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com.

Woodward had only been in College Station since January of 2016 after coming over from Washington, but he made a big impact that will last for years to come.

Can he have a similar impact at LSU? We’ll find out in the coming years, it seems.

UPDATE: LSU has confirmed the hire of Woodward.
