“It’s a packed house roaring as one, when the golden band from Tiger land takes the field. It’s a deafening noise when the opponent comes to the line.”

Those are the words of a narrator in the latest hype video produced for LSU football ahead of its 2:30 p.m. local time game on Saturday against Auburn. The video begins with words from coach Ed Orgeron, and ESPN broadcaster Scott Van Pelt praising the crowd and noise of Tiger Stadium.

Orgeron said he was looking forward to fans being “being cranked up, ready to go … What a great day it’s going to be.”

Van Pelt added, “I don’t know that there’s ever been an atmosphere in sports, that I’ve been a part of, that was memorable to me. And I’ve never seen anything that felt like that, or heard anything that was as sustained as that.

“It’s where tradition and intimidation come together,” the narrator added. “To make this, the most feared football stadium in America. It’s the fans that make Tiger Stadium Death Valley.”

The game, to be televised on CBS, will match Auburn, which is 5-1 and 3-0 in the SEC, against LSU, which is 4-2, 1-1. Auburn hasn’t won in Baton Rouge since 1999.
