The worst-case scenario came true for the Mizzou defense on Saturday against Middle Tennessee.
On Tuesday, coach Barry Odom confirmed that both LB Michael Scherer and DT Terry Beckner Jr. tore their ACLs vs. the Blue Raiders:

If there is some good news, it’s that Beckner’s injury wasn’t to the same ACL he previously tore:

Unfortunately for Scherer, a senior, the injury marks the end of his Mizzou career, something that hurts Odom emotionally:
Odom on Mike Scherer: "It rips my heart out that he's done everything he's done and it ends for him with that injury. "

In other injury news, senior CB John Gibson is likely to play this Saturday against Kentucky after missing all but one play of the Middle Tennessee game:

Mizzou will miss Scherer, the leading tackler, and Beckner, a stout defensive lineman, on Saturday afternoon against the Wildcats.
Saturday’s home game is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. Central time and can be seen on the SEC Network.
