Missouri quarterback Drew Lock apparently won’t be too phased by Josh Heupel’s decision to take over as the head coach at UCF when it comes to making his own decision on whether or not to head to the NFL early.

Heupel, who was Lock’s offensive coordinator and QB coach at Mizzou this past season, helped him quite a bit in terms of development. But just because the Tigers are going to need a new OC, that won’t sway Lock’s decision either way, according to a report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Lock was asked Sunday about the matter and replied, “Not too much,” when asked how big of an impact Heupel’s departure would be in terms of his own future.

“At the beginning,” Lock said, “it was all coming out, ‘Heupel left, so Drew’s leaving now.’ But really I’m on the same course as to making a decision. It (won’t be) a huge factor in my decision.”

If Lock comes back to Mizzou for his senior season, he’ll be playing for a third offensive coordinator in four years, the report pointed out.

“Lock won’t decide on whether he’ll enter the 2018 NFL draft or return to Mizzou for his senior year until he receives his draft grade from the NFL’s Draft Advisory Council in the coming weeks,” the report said.

Mizzou plays Texas in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 27 in Houston.
