The Missouri Tigers are beginning to prepare for the Liberty Bowl matchup against Oklahoma State, but now head coach Barry Odom has a distraction to deal with.

On Sunday morning, it was reported that assistant coach Vernon Hargreaves had been arrested for missing a court date in conjunction with a traffic violation.

Per STLToday.com, Hargreaves was cited in 2017 for operating a vehicle without insurance, which is only a misdemeanor. However, he failed to appear for his January court date, leading to his arrest on Saturday. Mizzou issued a statement about the arrest:

“We are aware of Vernon’s situation and are in the process of gathering additional information,” Mizzou team spokesman Chad Moller said. “Once we have completed that process, we will be able to offer additional comment.”

Hargreaves was released on bail, but it’s unclear at this time what his status is with the team.

The Tigers play the Cowboys in Memphis on New Year’s Eve.
