During the second half of Saturday’s game at Tennessee, Mizzou WR/PR Richaud Floyd took a direct hit to the helmet — a targeting penalty that earned the Vol defender an ejection.

It was a scary play, as Floyd was left motionless (and possibly knocked out) on the field for a few seconds. Though he eventually was able to move his extremities and was able to walk off the field with some assistance from trainers, he was kept overnight in a Knoxville hospital.

But, on Sunday morning, a Mizzou spokesperson shared some positive news on Floyd’s health. It appears he’s been cleared to return to Columbia on Sunday:

Floyd’s status for Friday’s game against Arkansas is looking doubtful, but at least the injury wasn’t more severe.

QB Drew Lock had some choice words for the Vols about how they handled the targeting call following the game.
