The Mizzou offense was atrocious in 2015, which led to the offseason hiring of Josh Heupel as the team’s new offensive coordinator.

Though there were certainly struggles in the first year of running Heupel’s fast-paced offense, there were also plenty of positives.

Perhaps the biggest positive from the 2016 campaign was the drastic reduction in negative plays:

Yes, Heupel’s offense is predicated on getting the ball out of QB Drew Lock’s hands as quickly and efficiently as possible, but those numbers are still encouraging.

With the young offensive line performing so well in 2016, confidence should be sky high heading into the 2017 season.
