Editor’s Note: We will track various gambling statistics related to SEC teams throughout the season and update them every week.

Since a 34-0 home loss to Georgia, Missouri is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS. Now the Tigers must come home to face a blossoming Arkansas team.

Missouri has performed much better away from Columbia, Mo., this season, winning all five road games against the spread. The team is just 2-4 ATS at home in 2014, including the aforementioned blowout loss to the Bulldogs and a perplexing defeat to a 3-8 Indiana team. The one loss coach Gary Pinkel’s team has suffered against the Vegas line in the last five games came at home against Vanderbilt.

Arkansas is the early betting favorite in the game, and the Razorbacks are by far the best Vegas team ATS, with a combined +/- of plus-127 and a record of 9-2 against the line. So despite its recent success in Vegas, Mizzou will have to break recent trends to win at home and clinch the SEC East.

The first chart below is a running tally of how each SEC team has performed against the spread this season. In other words, if Tennessee is favored by 10 points, but wins by 20, the Vols are +10 for that week. It gives us an idea of how teams are performing relative to expectations.

*The game against Florida Atlantic ended as a no contest because it was suspended and finalized before 55 minutes had been played. Alabama was leading 41-0 at the time. The Las Vegas Hilton line for the game closed at Bama -41.5.

After a week full of FCS foes, the average line faced for many SEC teams plunged.

Thanks to a 51.5-point spread that the Tide never seemed to threaten, Alabama now is better than a three-touchdown favorite in the average game this year, best in the conference by far.

Missouri, which is one victory from back-to-back SEC East titles, has performed well against the line in part due to deflated lines in Vegas. The sports books have installed the Tigers as less than a touchdown favorite on average, despite the team’s week-by-week consistency.

Vanderbilt is threatening to slip to a double-digit underdog on average depending on the final line against Tennessee.
