CeeDee Lamb is seeking a new contract this offseason after proving himself as one of the NFL’s best and most productive wide receivers over the first 4 years of his career.

The former 1st-round pick has not been involved with the Cowboys’ training camp so far this offseason as he negotiates his new deal. It seems his status with the team won’t be changing anytime soon.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke with reporters on Thursday evening and said he had no “urgency” to get an extension done with Lamb.

“I don’t know,” Jones said, via ESPN. “I don’t have a sense of urgency about getting it done. Put any reason you want. I was at Nobu two days ago. Give that as the reason. Whatever you want to put out there.”

A few minutes later, Lamb shared this pointed response on social media to Jones’ comments:

Lamb is entering the last year of his rookie deal and is slated to earn just under $18 million in 2024-25. He’s seeking to become one of the NFL’s highest-paid wide receivers. Lamb is being fined $50,000 for every day of training camp he misses.

Through 4 NFL seasons, Lamb has totaled 5,145 yards and 32 touchdowns. He’s also one of the highest-volume receivers in the league, as he led the NFL in receptions last season with 135 in 17 games. His 2023-24 campaign was his best yet — Lamb went for a career-high 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns as well.

Despite the training camp holdout, Lamb still has high expectations in the betting markets for his 5th NFL season. Per the latest odds from FanDuel, Lamb is +750 to lead the NFL in receiving yards this season — second-best odds behind only Miami’s Tyreek Hill, who led the league last season.

Lamb’s receiving yardage total has been set at 1,300.5, per FanDuel. The former Oklahoma standout has eclipsed that total in each of his last 2 seasons with the Cowboys.
