Despite an interception late in the first half, Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace commanded the Rebels’ offense to a 28-6 halftime lead over UL Lafayette with 290 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

Wallace completed his first 14 passes of the game, and completed 20-of-24 passes overall to six different receivers. Vince Sanders had the biggest first half of any Ole Miss wideout, catching eight passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

Rebels’ tailback I’Tavius Mathers got the offense going with a 56-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to break a scoreless tie at the time.

Ole Miss dominated ULL in most offensive categories in the first half. The Rebels have 361 yards of offense to ULL’s 183, 17 first downs to ULL’s 9, and converted 4-of-6 third downs while the Ragin’ Cajuns converted just 1-of-6.

The Rebels allowed two field goals, but have still only allowed one touchdown all season. Ole Miss forced two ULL turnovers in the half — a Senquez Golson interception and a Trae Elston strip.

Wallace threw his first interception since the first half of Ole Miss’ week 1 showdown with Boise State, but the Ragin’ Cajuns could only turn the turnover into three points at the end of the half.
