Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson has no interest in the Rebels hiring a new head football coach after this season.

Patterson had high praise for his current interim coach, Matt Luke, during a Wednesday appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show.

“He’s one of the most passionate guys, if not the most passionate guy I’ve ever been around — especially about Ole Miss and the job that he has right now,” Patterson said about Luke.”I don’t think anybody could have came in here and stepped in and done as good of a job as he’s done so far. He’s led us. Even when he wasn’t the head coach, he was a good leader in the locker room and in the staff room.

“I know everybody on this team is fighting for him, and we’re going to do everything we can to keep him at this university.”

Luke has led the Rebels to a 3-3 record thus far in the 2017 football season after taking over for Hugh Freeze, who resigned from Ole Miss amid scandal in July.

Luke’s Rebels host No. 24 LSU on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.
