When the federal government comes trying to seize your money, you know you are in trouble. That’s something former Kentucky linebacker Josh Forrest is reportedly dealing with at the moment.

While no charges have been filed against Forrest, the government is attempting to seize $8,000 of his money that he sent in a package from Kentucky to Seattle according to Bill Estep of the Lexington Herald-Leader. Forrest is claiming the money was for moving expenses after he left Seattle and moved back to Kentucky, while the government is claiming the money was to be used to purchase controlled substances.

Forrest has offered up receipts, storage-unit statements and statements on moving furniture, according to his attorney.

Investigators claim they were tipped off by the packaging for a number of reasons. The return address listed a Washington address, even though it was sent from Kentucky. Investigators called in a drug-sniffing dog and the dog indicated drugs had been in contact with the package. The package also did not require a signature upon delivery.
