Devonta Smith (Amite, LA) is dreaming big and for good reason.

Smith, a 5-star wide receiver, according to 247Sports’ player rankings, is the No. 3 overall prospect at his position for the recruiting class of 2017, narrowed his list of potential college choices down to 10 on Wednesday morning.

There’s a 50 percent chance that he ends up landing with an SEC school. Not listed in any order, it’s comprised of Florida State, Miami, Baylor, Nebraska, USC, Alabama, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State and Tennessee.

According to his 247Sports crystal ball predictions, the 6-foot-1, 160-pound U.S. Army All-American is expected to commit to the Crimson Tide when it’s all said and done. It’s easy to see why Alabama could be the final destination based on the way Lane Kiffin uses elite wide receivers. Smith has seen Kiffin’s offense explode with Amari Cooper and Calvin Ridley, and he obviously views himself a major factor in the Tide’s offensive attack.

Cooper caught 124 passes for 1,727 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2014, while Ridley exploded onto the scene last year making 89 catches for 1,045 yards and seven touchdowns, and he was crucial down the stretch in the College Football Playoff.
