2015 should be the year of the SEC running backs, but how do the SEC’s best compare to the leaders around the country?

NCAA.com recently ranked the top five running backs in college football, and Nick Chubb and Leonard Fournette were included in the top five.

5. James Conner, Pittsburgh Panthers
4. Samaje Perine, Oklahoma Sooners
3. Leonard Fournette, LSU Tigers
2. Nick Chubb, Georgia Bulldogs
1. Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State Buckeyes

On Leonard Fournette…

“Leonard Fournette was the most heralded freshman in last year’s class. He split duties in his first season at LSU and still managed over 1,000 yards and 10 scores. With the backfield now clear for him, look out for Leonard.”

On Nick Chubb…

“At No. 2, Nick Chubb completes the sophomore trio. The Georgia back started his freshman campaign as Todd Gurley’s sidekick. But when Gurley was out for a suspension and then a season-ending knee injury, Chubb shed his cape for the Batman Mobile rushing for 100 yards in each of the final eight games of the season, including a season-high 266 in the Belk Bowl.”
