SEC Championship Game tops title weekend TV ratings
TV ratings are in from championship weekend, which featured each of the Power 5 conference’s title matchups (even though Oklahoma-Oklahoma State wasn’t an official Big 12 Championship Game, just fortuitous scheduling).
The winner, by nearly two million viewers, was the SEC Championship Game that pitted No. 1 Alabama against the SEC East-champion Florida Gators:

The Big Ten Championship between Wisconsin and Penn State checked in with 9.19 million viewers, good for second place. The other three championship games had around five million viewers each.
The Crimson Tide cruised to an easy 54-16 victory, maintaining their undefeated season in the process. Nick Saban’s crew is sure to draw big ratings again on Dec. 31 in the College Football Playoff semifinals vs. No. 4 Washington.
