Former Ole Miss and Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville has been very public regarding his potential run to become the next governor of the Yellowhammer State. However, it goes without saying, he doesn’t stand much chance at winning without getting some support from the Alabama fan base.

Despite his strong record against the Crimson Tide, Tuberville believes he has the perfect comeback for any angry Alabama fans eager to dismiss his potential campaign.

In his decade-long run at Auburn, Tuberville racked up a 7-3 record in the Iron Bowl — including a six-game winning streak that may have motivated Alabama to land Saban. While Tuberville got the best of the Alabama coach in their first game back in 2007, Auburn’s 36-0 loss to Saban in their second and final Iron Bowl showdown ultimately led to Tuberville leaving the Plains for Texas Tech.

It may be hard for Alabama fans to vote for Tuberville but if he is indeed the reason the Tide hired Saban, he may have more support than he thinks inside the state.
