Safety Darin Smalls is no longer a part of the South Carolina football program and intends to transfer, according to GamecockCentral.com.

Smalls was a three-star prospect that enrolled in January of 2015, but never saw time on the field for the Gamecocks.

He redshirted last season as he recovered from a reported knee injury sustained in high school.

Though it may not impact the top of the depth chart, it will impact a South Carolina secondary that has been dealing with depth issues all spring.

Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp, who is a former defensive back himself, joked earlier this spring that he may have to suit up himself to keep the numbers where he wants them.
