South Carolina’s first injury report is here.

Last month, the SEC announced that all 16 teams will use injury reports ahead of conference games. South Carolina’s first conference game is Saturday against Kentucky.

SEC guidelines state teams must issue the Initial Report on Wednesday by 8 p.m. ET and update the Availability Report once per day on Thursday and Friday. On game day, teams must provide one Game Day Update no later than 90 minutes before kickoff.

Here is South Carolina’s initial injury report for the Kentucky game:

  • Jakai Moore – OL – Out
  • Emory Floyd – DB – Doubtful
  • Bangally Kamara – LB – Questionable
  • David Spaulding – DB – Questionable
  • Gilber Edmond – EDGE – Questionable
  • Bryan Thomas Jr. – EDGE – Probable

The injury report is listed in likelihood of absence. Players labeled Out have 0% chance of playing on Saturday. Those listed Doubtful have a 25% chance of taking part in the game. Questionable is used for 50% chance to play, while Probable means the player has a 75% chance.

Beamer has indicated that Moore’s absence will be lengthy. The Gamecocks are also without another offensive lineman, Aaryn Parks. SEC guidelines state the injury reports are for regular participants. Teams do not have to include players who fit the following descriptions: (1) is not expected to participate in games (e.g., a redshirt student-athlete who does not dress for games) or (2) at most, infrequently participates in a de minimis portion of games (e.g., the final minutes of a game when the outcome is no longer in doubt).

Last week, Beamer shared his thoughts on availability reports.

“The reason’s gambling, let’s just be real,” Beamer said. “It is what it is, which I have no problem with. I think wanting to have all that out on the forefront now, I have no problem with it. When I was an assistant coach at Virginia Tech, one of those years in the ACC, we had to do it, so I’ve been around it. I think the concern amongst coaches in our league when we discussed it at our league meetings in Destin was just making sure that everybody was honest and transparent.”

On the gambling front, South Carolina is a double-digit underdog at many popular sportsbooks. Fans can check out the SDS guide to the best sports betting apps to get in on the action.
