The Gamecocks staff is said to have received the Charlotte prospect’s commitment on Wednesday, with Douglas choosing to make it public Saturday.

Douglas will now become an active recruiter. He told Gamecockcentral.com he will be recruiting four-star OT T.J. Moore and four-star North Carolina commit Ryan Jones, his Mallard Creek teammates:
“I’m going to try to get all three of us at Mallard Creek there and I think all three of us will get there. Fans can take that how they want it. I think I can get all three of us there.”
South Carolina now has seven commits for a 2017 class that currently ranks No. 4 in the SEC and No. 14 nationally according to 247Sports composite.
