Tuesday was a great day for South Carolina.

Steve Spurrier delivered another great SEC Media Days, and the Gamecocks also landed an offensive line commitment.

Will Putnam from Harrisburg, North Carolina, becomes the Gamecocks’ sixth commitment for the 2016 recruiting class. The 6-5, 270-pound prospect projects as an offensive tackle at the next level.

247Sports doesn’t currently have Putnam ranked in their database, and Rivals has him rated as a two-star prospect.

“My big thing was, it is SEC football,” Putnam told The State. “It doesn’t get any bigger than this. It is just such a great opportunity. It’s like a dream I’ve had as a kid to play for a big time school.”
