Steve Spurrier wants South Carolina to play like a nationally-ranked team so bad this season.
After Saturday night’s 48-34 win at oft-criticized Vanderbilt, he’s still not sure what to make of the Gamecocks who didn’t fight off the SEC’s worst team until five minutes left in the game.
“It’s embarrassing sometimes the way we play,” Spurrier to SEC Network’s Maria Taylor after the game. “We do a lot of stupid stuff, but somehow another we keep winning these games. We’re not a very good team right now, but we’re going to try. I’m not sure a team has ever given up two kickoff returns (for touchdowns) and won the game.”
Steve Spurrier: "It’s one of the worst (wins) I have ever had, no question."
