Video: Spurrier sounds off on offense after Gamecocks’ lackluster scrimmage
Steve Spurrier often does a great job firing up his quarterbacks, complimenting them after a solid performance and calling them out after what he deems a lackluster effort.
File Saturday’s scrimmage performance under one of the bad ones.
Spurrier said he hopes to narrow South Carolina’s quarterback competition down to “two and half, maybe three and a half” players soon, but no signal caller stood out during the one-hour practice. He didn’t hold anything back with his assessment.

(No, these quotes aren’t a joke and the Head Ball Coach isn’t laughing this time around.)
No QB separation. "We didn't have a best QB." — Spurrier

Any clearer on QB battle? Spurrier: “how could we be? Did you see anything?”

Spurrier: “We’re all too slow. Our quarterbacks don’t move their feet and fire the ball.” — Michael Haney (@Haney1075) August 15, 2015
Spurrier not pleased: “It was a struggle out here. Couldn’t make many first downs, went backwards about every time.”
