Less than two weeks after receiving a scholarship offer from South Carolina, in-state prospect Tancey Richardson has committed to play his college football in Columbia for head coach Will Muschamp.

A native of Aiken, S.C., Richardson took to Twitter to announce the news Sunday evening:

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Richardson is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 21 overall recruit from the state of South Carolina by 247Sports. Richardson committed to the Gamecocks over Mississippi State, Colorado State and Southern Miss among others.

Richardson does just bit of everything of his high school team, lining up in the secondary, at receiver, in the backfield and returning kicks on special teams. Judging by his junior highlight reel, few if any high school defenders have the speed to slow down Richardson once he gets a full head of steam going:

Following Richardson’s commitment, South Carolina now has 17 commitments lined up toward the 2017 recruiting class that currently ranks among the best in the SEC.
