For most of the day, it looked like Will Muschamp was going to notch another win against his former team.

South Carolina scored on its first drive as part of a quick 14-0 surge against No. 15 Florida in The Swamp. Then the Gamecocks went ahead 31-14 with less than five minutes remaining in the third quarter and took a 10-point lead into the final period.

But it all fell apart from there for South Carolina, which gained just one first down in the fourth quarter as the Gators stormed back behind a surging running game that produced 367 yards. Gamecocks quarterback Jake Bentley threw an interception on third and 11 with 3:21 to play, and Florida managed to run out the clock to hang on for a 35-31, come-from-behind victory.

Understandably, Muschamp wasn’t too happy during his post-game press conference.

Muschamp also said that Gamecocks senior linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams will be out for the rest of the regular season following ankle surgery. He didn’t travel to Gainesville for the game, and his status for a potential bowl game is still uncertain.
