Published:

Kentucky assistant coach Chad Scott is reportedly on his way to North Carolina.

The report, which stems from FootballScoop.com and has been picked up by Kentucky beat reporter Jen Smith, surfaced late Monday night.

Scott has served on the Wildcats offensive coaching staff for three years under Mark Stoops.

Smith’s report may shed some light as to why Scott, who coached running backs from 2013-15 for Kentucky, was looking to make a change:

He recently was asked to move to wide receivers coach with the hiring of new offensive coordinators Eddie Gran, who specializes in running backs, and Darin Hinshaw.

According to the FootballScoop.com report, Scott may assume a role as the TE coach for the Tar Heels.
