Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin and recently-hired defensive coordinator John Chavis will work hard this month to flip five-star linebacker and Texas commit Malik Jefferson along with uncommitted defensive tackle standout Daylon Mack to the Aggies on signing day.
Flipping Mack is possible after the once long-committed pass rusher decommitted from Texas A&M in December. Several Texas A&M commitments tried persuading Mack to join them in College Station during last week’s Under Armour All-American Game festivities in Orlando, Fla.

Mack announced his new leader on Sunday, but most experts think Chavis’ addition at Texas A&M will be the key element in his final decision after the veteran coach nearly coaxed him into coming to LSU before he resigned.

Luring Jefferson will be much more challenging since the Longhorns early enrollee is strong with his decision. When he committed to Texas in December, Mark Snyder had already been fired by the Aggies and Chavis had not been hired.
