Tennessee commit Alvin Kamara was named to the NJCAA All-American on Tuesday. The four-star running back rushed for 1,253 yards and 18 touchdowns, while catching 18 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns at Hutchinson Community College (Kan.).

Kamara ranks as the No. 4 overall prospect and the No. 2 running back for the 2015 JUCO recruiting class. The four-star announced his committment to Tennessee in June.

Kamara spent one season at Alabama before opting to transfer in February. During his only season, the Norcross, Ga., native injured his knee in preseason and missed a week of practices leading into the Tide’s game against LSU for undisclosed “behavioral issues.”

Kamara also served a suspension during Alabama’s Sugar Bowl matchup against Oklahoma. After falling behind fellow freshmen Derrick Henry and Altee Tenpenny for playing time, he was forced to redshirt.

Kamara is expected to sign his initial letter of intent Wednesday.
