ESPN's FPI predicts outcome of Tennessee-Arkansas
ESPN’s Football Power Index gave its prediction for the Tennessee-Arkansas matchup that is set to take place Saturday, with the FPI giving the Volunteers an 82.1% chance to win.
Josh Heupel’s crew is fresh off a bye week and looking to get through one more road game before it begins a four-game homestand that is headlined by a visit from Alabama.
The Vols have been one of the more surprising teams of college football this season, purely because of how dominant they have been. The Tennessee defense has been among the best in the nation in most major categories, and the running game ranks top 5 overall in yards per game. The progression of young signal-caller Nico Iamaleava has been steady, and he’s wowed with a handful of highlight-worthy throws thus far.
Meanwhile, Arkansas has been an up-and-down group this season. The Razorbacks arguably should have beaten Oklahoma State in Week 2, but a late-game collapse led to the Cowboys claiming a 39-31 win in double overtime. Sam Pittman’s team followed that up with a too-close-for-comfort win over UAB before it won a sloppy game against Auburn. Last week, the Hogs faded after a strong first quarter and lost a defensive grudge match to Texas A&M.
The Volunteers and Razorbacks kick off at 7:30 ET in Fayetteville. The game can be seen on ABC.
We have set up a hotline to handle all the incoming calls from your recruits.

Salute!
Gosh. That is a quote from Junior Samples of TV series Hee Haw back in the 1970’s era. Glad there are people around who still remember.
That’s the number!
You don’t know Country if you don’t know that!
Petrino is a much better play caller than our coach could ever dream of. We will probably lose this game because of that and the fact that we can’t and won’t get past 1998. We will probably lose recruits this weekend.
Just keep the Hogs in front of you and don’t let this be the week that Sam Pittman and Bobby Petrino finally put it all together.
I hope the Vols are zeroed in. This could easily be a trap game on the road.
Welcome to the Natural State, Vols fans. I expect this to be a very tight, hard fought battle right up to about 7:32 pm ET, and then Tennessee blows it open…
Win and get back on home, Vols!
I am enjoying the Heckle and Jekyll Voltrainchoochooboy. Very refreshing and entertaining. Please continue. Thank you.
