We asked fans to sound off on which SEC team will have the best receiving corps in 2015, and the answers overwhelmingly favored the wide receiver group of the Tennessee Vols. Here are some of the responses received:

In my opinion Tennessee will have the deepest, talented, and most experienced receiving corps. Senior Pig Howard will be going into his third season as the go to guy out of the slot after leading the team with 54 catches for over 500 yatds last season. Myself, along with I’m sure are really hoping for breakout seasons from super-talented junior Marquez North. After a disappointing and injury-plagued sophmore season, North should be primed for a big junior season after showing flashes of super stardom as a freshman with his size (6’4) and athleticism. Freak athlete Von Pearson (6’2 190) showed his potential, when healthy, too last season out of junior college, and I look for him to have a big senior season because of how scary he is with the ball in his hands. Redshirt junior Jason Croom is a solid option as well. Needs to work on his consistency, but he has big game experience and 6’5, 240 is a matchup nightmare on the outside. Sophmore Josh Malone (6’3, 200) has star potential and hopefully can improve on his freshman season, needs to work on his ball skills and put on a little muscle, but like many of the teams wideouts he’s electric with the ball in his hands. Redshirt sophmore Josh Smith was having a solid season until an ankle injury a few games in sidelined him for the rest of the year. He’s a great route runner with great hands. Senior Jonathan Johnson is also a pretty reliable, experienced option out of the slot, needs to work on drops as well though. 5 star true freshman Preston Williams has the size (6’4, 190), speed, and hands to be regarded as the top wideout in his class, which he was by many recruiting services although he missed most of his senior season of high school. I think it’s pretty clear that Tennessee will have one of the best wide receiver units in the SEC, and the country. Ole Miss is the only other group that I would place in the same category as the Vols’.

When you combine Pig Howard, healthy Marquez North, Von Pearson, Josh Smith, Josh Malone, jason croom, And newcomer Preston Williams. Ethan wolf and Alex Ellis hold down the tight end position and this is a group that has alot of chemistry together and they lose no one. Unless the injury bugmakes another visit we are looking at a very deep receiving corp

Tennessee will have the best receiving corps. They have experienced receivers with plenty of talent, size, and speed. They have a mix of these kinds plus a rising quarterback. Mix it all together and you have the best receiving corps in the sec. Maybe even the country.

Tennessee has the best combination of size and speed in the SEC. With a rotation that includes Pig Howard, Von Pearson, Josh Malone, Jason Croom, and the elite Marquez North, Tennessee will be a force in the East. Reliable tight ends Alex Wolfe and Daniel Helm should make significant contributions as well.

Honestly, as a Tennessee fan, I think we will most likely have the best WR core in the SEC, and if not the best certainly the deepest. With names like Marquez North, Pig Howard, Von Pearson, Jason Croom, Preston Williams, and Josh Malone it is difficult to argue any other way. I will use the Gator/ Taxslayer Bowl as an instance, granted Iowa was not the best Big Ten opposition, they still had a solid team. In the first half of that football game Josh Dobbs didn’t fail to complete more than 2 passes, that is largely in part of our WR core. However, the impressive part of that statistic is: Dobbs only had Von Pearson and Pig Howard in that game, so with a WR core that can loose 75% of its best Players and still produce quality play will easily be the best core in the SEC.

Tennessee will have the best WR corps. Zach Azzani as passing coordinator is a plus, and they have Preston Williams, Alton Pig Howard, Von Pearson, Josh Malone, Marquez North and others. Depth was a problem last year, talent was not. Now they have an increase in both.

Tennessee will have the best receivers coming into the 2015-16 season. Reason being is because the Vols were hurt throughout injury at the receiver position, and still managed to find success. Marquez North, Cody Blanc, Josh Smith, Von Pearson and Jason Croom were some that were injured last season. With those guys being healthy and 100%, our receivers should be deadly. Bringing in Preston Willams will be a big help and will add to our size at the position. Pig Howard isn’t the 6’4 200 type of guy. But he is fearless and will go make big plays when needed. He led the Vols in receptions last year, and i belive he will be Josh Dobbs Go To Guy.
