On the surface, John Kelly and Alvin Kamara have much in common.

They both played at Tennessee. They both are smaller, explosive backs that can be utilized in several ways. And they both entered the pre-draft process with some uncertainty when it comes to NFL evaluators. While Kamara has already been through the process and has proven to be one of the Saints best young players, Kelly has begun his journey to hopefully accomplish the same thing after leaving Knoxville.

Naturally, before heading to the NFL Combine, Kelly asked Kamara for some advice on how to handle the prodding that NFL clubs are known for at the combine.

“Just be myself. That’s really the main thing that he’s been talking to me about,” Kelly said during his appearance at the combine. “Just go out there and be yourself, be honest with everybody and just compete.”
