The Tennessee Volunteers have succeeded in recruiting receivers in recent years. Despite the program’s lapses prior to Butch Jones’ hire, the Vols have consistently signed four-star pass catchers dating back to 2010.

Preston Williams is the latest prized commit to the rising program. The Hampton, Ga., native rates as a five-star prospect and ranks as the No. 33 overall player, No. 5 wide receiver and No. 5 player from Georgia in 2015.

Williams has tremendous speed and good size entering his first collegiate season. The 6-foot-4, 191-pound receiver excels at ball skills and yards after the catch and received a grade of seven out of 10 or better at every attribute according to 247Sports.

Williams joins a talented group of receivers that includes Marquez North, Von Pearson, Pig Howard, Jason Croom and Josh Malone. While his playing time may be limited in his first season, the incoming freshman could make an impact when needed.

But regardless of his short-term success, Williams has the ability to become one of the SEC’s top wideouts once he gains experience. Alongside Malone, the Vols should continue to have one of the SEC’s best wide receiving corps for several years, especially if they continue their success on the recruiting trail.
