Tennessee is just setting the stage for a wild National Signing Day around the country.

The Vols flipped Miami cornerback commit Tyler Byrd, who also happens to be a one-time Florida Gators commit. Tennessee dipped down into the Sunshine State (Naples, Fla.) to land Byrd, and he became the Vols’ 18 commitment for the class of 2016.

Byrd took an official visit to Tennessee this past weekend, and this commitment doesn’t really come at a surprise. Byrd is very close to Tennessee running back commit Carlin Fils-aime.

He is ranked the nation’s No. 86 overall prospect and No. 10 cornerback, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
