Ralph Webb might have to wait until 2017 to become Vanderbilt’s all-time leading rusher.

The junior running back is just 150 yards away from the record with two games to go. But Commodores coach Derek Mason revealed during a Tuesday press conference that he’ll stick to a running-back-by-committee approach because Webb has been dealing with an ankle injury.

Webb has the fourth-most rushing yards in the SEC, but his numbers have dwindled over the past few weeks.

He rushed 13 times for 46 yards against Auburn on Nov. 5 before gaining just 34 yards on 11 carries against a porous Missouri rushing defense last Saturday. Sophomore backup Khari Blasingame has played a much bigger role in the running game over that stretch.

Webb could still break the program rushing record over the final two-game stretch, especially with Ole Miss’ 112th-ranked rushing defense coming up this weekend. But for now, it seems like he’ll be splitting carries.

The Commodores (4-6, 1-5) host the Rebels (5-5, 2-4) at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday.
