The SEC’s Game of the Week renews the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry with much more at stake in 2013. Both teams could essentially bow out of their divisional race with a loss.

Kevin and I both finished 4-3 last week ATS and 6-1 overall. I improved to 56-33 ATS and 75-14 overall, while Kevin improved to 50-39 ATS and 72-17 overall. We’re still waiting on a week of separation.

Troy at Ole Miss (-28.5)
Jon: I love what Ole Miss is doing right now and the team they are becoming, and they are set up for a fantastic finish. The Rebels will throttle Troy and cover the spread. Ole Miss 49, Troy 17
Kevin: Yep, Ole Miss dominates this game and gets ready for a big game against Missouri the following week. Ole Miss 39, Troy 10.
Kentucky at Vanderbilt (-13)
Jon: Vanderbilt plays good, sound football. It’s nothing spectacular but they feast off your mistakes, and Kentucky makes too many mistakes. The Commodores win and cover at home. Vanderbilt 35, Kentucky 17
Kevin: In the non-exciting SEC matchup of the week (no offense meant to either fan base), I’ll take Vanderbilt to win, but not cover the spread. Vanderbilt 24, Kentucky 14..
#25 Georgia at #7 Auburn (-3.5)
Jon: This is the toughest game of the week to pick for sure, and this game is a must-win for both teams. Don’t let the records or rankings fool you; Georgia can absolutely go on the road and win this game, especially if Todd Gurley stays healthy. Auburn wins…by one point and because of the home crowd, but Georgia covers the spread in a real close one. Auburn 35, Georgia 34.
Kevin: I’m not a believer in Georgia’s defense, so I’m going to go with the ground-and-pound game of Auburn. I’m predicting a close game where Auburn pulls ahead late and covers. Auburn 27, Georgia 20.

Florida at #10 South Carolina (-13.5)
Jon: Unless Carolina just self-destructs, they aren’t losing this game. Furthermore, Florida won’t cover the spread with such a terrible offense. If the Gators don’t score on defense or special teams, this could get ugly. Mike Davis and Jadeveon Clowney should have a field day. South Carolina 31, Florida 13.
Kevin: Florida is terrible right now offensively and it’s potentially going to get worse if Tyler Murphy can’t play after getting banged up last week. Even the defense has been getting throttled recently. You just can’t bet on Florida right now. South Carolina 28, Florida 10.
#1 Alabama (-25.5) at Mississippi State
Jon: With Dak Prescott banged up it’s going to be tough for MSU to consistently move the football against Alabama, a defense that’s getting better week after week. It’s not about style points, so it won’t get too ugly. Alabama rolls and covers. Alabama 38, Mississippi State 7.
Kevin: The Tide are rolling right now and I expect them to win easily. Alabama 35, Mississippi State 7.
