Vanderbilt will return to its ‘Anchor Down’ all-black alternate uniform set for Thursday’s opener against Western Kentucky, but this time the Commodores are incorporating a matte black helmet with a new gold anchor stripe and revised ‘Star V’ logo.
Coach Derek Mason revealed the look earlier this summer, but they’ll make their on-field debut later this week:

Vanderbilt last wore its all-black alternates — complete with sublimated anchor graphics on sleeves — at home last season against Tennessee. Personally, I’m waiting for the ‘Deep Water’ alternates later this season.
