Former USC head coach Steve Sarkisian, who was fired by the school after showing up to a team meeting drunk, is suing the Trojans for firing him because of his disability instead of getting him help for his alcoholism, according to TMZ.

Sarkisian is seeking more than $30 million from what TMZ Sports has learned.

In the suit, which was obtained by TMZ Sports, Sarkisian says he recognized that he suffered from alcoholism in October 2015 after a well-documented alcohol-fueled meltdown on campus.

However, Sarkisian said in the suit that the school “kicked him to the curb” when he needed its assistance the most.

Sarkisian’s attorney, Alan Loewinsohn, spoke with TMZ, telling them, “Alcoholism is a recognized disability under California law. So firing somebody because of that disability is against the law.”

Sarkisian claims that he pleaded with Trojans athletic director Pat Haden to be granted time off to get help. Instead, Haden fired him less than 24 hours later by email.

According to Sarkisian, he’s completed a portion of his rehab and is “sober and ready to return to coaching.”

Here are some of the things Sarkisian is suing for:
-Breach of contract
-Breach of implied covenant of good faith
-Failure to accommodate
-Discrimination on the basis of disability
-Retaliation
-Violation of confidentiality of medical info
