No team in America will lose a more talented trio to the NFL Draft than Ole Miss.

No, not even Alabama.

Tackle Laremy Tunsil, the quintessential blind side protector, may go No. 1 overall. Spectacular WR Laquon Treadwell will go in the top 10 with DT Robert Nkemdiche around the same time.

And all are third-year players, meaning Ole Miss could have had them around for another season.

Ole Miss will also lose All-SEC defensive backs Trae Elston and Mike Hilton.

Though the Rebels will have to reload at some positions, Hugh Freeze’s amazing recruiting — No. 1 overall QB Shea Patterson has committed for next year — should prevent any freefall from this year’s 10-3 season, which included a second-straight victory over Alabama.

Here’s a look at the top five returning players for Ole Miss:

5. LB DeMarquis Gates: The rising junior led the Rebels with 76 tackles. The 6-foot-2, 217-pound Gates, playing behind Denzel Nkemdiche most of the season, made 14 tackles against LSU when Nkemdiche was hospitalized.

4. WR Quincy Adeboyejo: The 6-3, 195-pound senior, Adeboyejo could be the main target in the passing game with Treadwell gone. Athletic and speedy, he caught 38 passes for 604 yards (15.9 yards per catch) and seven TDs last season.

3. CB Tony Bridges: The 6-0, 183-pound junior-college transfer had three interceptions and 36 tackles in his first season at Ole Miss. With safety Elston and nickelbfack Hilton gone, Bridges and Conner will be the leaders in the secondary.

2. DE Marquis Haynes: Another All-SEC standout, the rising junior led the Rebels with 10 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss. At 6-3, 220 pounds, the athletic Haynes is too quick for most offensive lineman to handle without help.

1. QB Chad Kelly: The transfer stayed out of trouble and was effective getting the ball to the Rebels’ outstanding corps of receivers. Kelly led the SEC with 4,042 yards passing and 31 TDs. The nephew of former NFL star Jim Kelly, he also rushed for 500 yards and 10 TDs.
