As is the case with accepting any early commitment, there’s always the risk for the prospect to renege on the decision and fully explore the recruitment process.
Mississippi State had earned a pledge from top 2018 in-state prospect Marcus Murphy. The 4-star running back is regarded as the No. 2 player in Mississippi for the ’18 class.
However, he took to his Twitter page on Tuesday and announced a decision to decommit from Dan Mullen’s program:

While this is a big loss for the Bulldogs, there’s plenty of time to get back into the good graces of the skill player. After all, there’s more than a year until Murphy can officially make his college decision.
