The NCAA released details of its investigation into Alabama recruiting Friday afternoon and has determined a former Alabama assistant coach acted “unethically” while employed by the Tide.

According to the report, the former unnamed assistant coach — believed to be former defensive line coach Bo Davis — lied to investigators. The coach was found to have provided false or misleading information about impermissible recruiting contacts. The assistant coach met with four prospects during an impermissible meeting arranged by a booster.

Upon learning of this, Alabama fired Bo Davis last offseason in the lead up to the 2016 NFL Draft.

The NCAA has penalized the coach with a two-year show cause beginning April 14, 2017, and running through April 13, 2019. Alabama was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and is ordered to disassociate from the booster.

The full NCAA report on the case can be read here.
