QB transfer Malik Zaire officially joins Florida with Twitter video
I guess it’s officially official.
Former Notre Dame QB Malik Zaire confirmed the biggest (non) secret in college football: he’s transferring to Florida. The graduate transfer can begin classes in Gainesville on Monday.
On Tuesday morning, Bonus Sports released a video on Twitter with Zaire putting on a Gators shirt and doing the “Gator Chomp,” and the left-handed signal caller retweeted it.

Zaire also took to Instagram to make it official.
Is Zaire a savior to Florida’s lackluster QB play? We’re not sure there’s any reason to believe he will be; however, adding competition to the fold and another veteran is what Jim McElwain wants. And if Florida winds up catching lightning in a bottle with Zaire, then that will be great, too. But most aren’t expecting Zaire to lead Florida to the promise land.
Still, adding a QB with an added running dimension can help make offenses even better.
