Report: Father of LSU pitcher, father of strength coach save Florida fan’s life at College World Series

During the sixth inning of Monday night’s College World Series game one between Florida and LSU, the father of Tigers pitcher Jared Poché and the father of LSU strength coach Travis Roy saved a Florida fan’s life in the stands. Poché’s father is a family doctor, and Roy’s father has been a firefighter for 30 years.
According to The Advocate, an 80 year-old man was seen slumping in his chair and was thought to be having an heart attack. When Dr. Poché was called over, the man was not breathing and didn’t have a pulse. He provided chest compressions while Roy gave the man mouth-to-mouth resuscitation until paramedics arrived.
They were notified later that the man was in stable condition, and they had essentially saved his life.
“The man died,” Poché said. “He didn’t have a pulse; he didn’t have nothing. It looks like, luckily, we got him back.”
Dr. Poché’s son, Jared, will start game two against the Gators in the best-of-three series, with Florida leading 1-0 after Monday night’s 4-3 win. The first pitch is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday night.
