After seeing Steph Curry deal, former Mizzou LB Shane Ray argues football players deserve more money
The new $200 million deal for NBA superstar Steph Curry caught the attention of sports fans everywhere, even fellow athletes like former Missouri LB Shane Ray.
The Denver Bronco, currently making $2.2 million a year per Spotrac, says NFL players deserve to be making more.
Dam 200 mil. I'll b happy when they start giving football players what they deserve

As one would expect, Ray received some pushback on Twitter. People took issue with seeing Ray, a millionaire, complain about what his salary and others cited the NFL’s shorter schedule for its lower salaries than the NBA.
Nor can you compare the physicality or wear and tear on our bodies https://t.co/gfP3KF3vJp

Why would anyone ever just be satisfied with what they have. I was always taught to hustle and go get more. Y'all priorities ain't right

An amusing twist results from Ray’s Twitter exchanges when he reveals that he will raise his son to play a sport other than football, and it’s not basketball.
Yea unfortunately that's why my boy is gone play baseball haha https://t.co/iVuUpQ1gk4

It’s hard to argue with Ray’s strategy. When it comes to contracts, the MLB is the polar opposite of the NFL. In the MLB, players are guaranteed to see every dime of their contract, even if a team later decides to cut them from the big-league roster.
