The Georgia Bulldogs lost some depth along their offensive line on Tuesday when Sage Hardin decided to retire from football.

The redshirt sophomore from Atlanta cited a series of injuries that have made it very painful for him to play the game he loves.

Hardin made the difficult announcement on Twitter on Tuesday evening:

Fortunately, Hardin will be able to remain around the Bulldogs, as he is now serving as an offensive student assistant, presumably to help coach the offensive line.

Hardin redshirted as a freshman in 2015 and appeared in one game as a redshirt freshman last season.

Here’s hoping Hardin finds success in his new role as a student assistant.
