The Florida Gators will look a lot different when they take the field on Saturday for a game against Texas A&M.

That’s because they’ll be wearing Gator-skin jerseys created by Nike, complete with a similar pattern on the cleats.

The uniforms, which can be seen below, have been widely trashed and mocked on social media, but coach Jim McElwain thinks they’re a good thing for the program:

On Wednesday, McElwain said recruits and players love the new look and, at the end of the day, that’s what’s most important for his program:

Florida’s original uniforms are iconic, so hopefully this gator-skin stunt is a one-time thing. However, if recruits like it, we’ll see more crazy uniforms in the future.

See how the jerseys look live when the Gators take the field on Saturday night at The Swamp. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on ESPN2.
