Tennessee has reportedly put big money on the table in hopes of landing Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy to be its next football coach.

Now, a report from Brett McMurphy suggests that the Vols have brought in one of their most famous alums to make a pitch for Gundy to come to Knoxville. It’s unclear how much power and influence Peyton Manning has with this search, but McMurphy has reported that the former Super Bowl MVP and College Football Hall of Fame inductee has at least talked with Gundy.

Gundy and the Cowboys are 9-3 this season, and he’s led the program for 13 years to a 113-53 record.
